SCDOT, in coordination with Central Midlands Council of Governments and COATS MPO, is seeking feedback on the U.S. 76/176 Corridor Feasibility Study. The study seeks to develop a plan that will improve traffic conditions, enhance safety, accommodate non-vehicular users, and support smart growth.
The corridor study runs from Harbison Boulevard to I-26 in Richland County and U.S. 176 (Broad River Road) in Richland County to Linder Field Road in Newberry County. The section of U.S. 76 from I-26 to U.S. 176 (Broad River Road) is excluded from this study since Richland County Penny Sales Tax Program plans to widen that section of the corridor.
The corridor study area encompasses Newberry, Lexington and Richland Counties as well as the municipalities of Little Mountain, Chapin, Irmo, and Columbia.
