Yesterday before 5pm, the House and Senate both adjourned “sine die”. Simply put, we will only return to vote on the final budget for 2025-2026 once the House and Senate conferees have finalized their work.

I’ll continue to speak with Rotary Clubs, Chambers, Church groups, and Neighborhood HOAs throughout the year and also update NathansNews as well (mainly with local updates) until we return in January 2026.

You can also stay informed by reading my column once a month in the New Irmo News and Chapin News!

Attached is a recap of what we (House Republicans) committed to do this session (we still have 2026 to continue this work for the two-year session). I hope you’ll see that we delivered on our mission.

We began this session with a clear mission — our 6 Pillars for Progress — and we fought hard to turn that vision into real results for the people of South Carolina. From passing the largest income tax cut in state history to expanding school choice, raising teacher pay, banning DEI in our classrooms, investing in infrastructure and energy, and cracking down on fentanyl and violent crime — we got the job done.

We didn’t just talk about conservative reform. We passed it. And South Carolina is stronger because of it.

This is what leadership looks like.

If you have any issues important to you that you feel can benefit our state, please share those with me. Over the next several months, I will research for you and consider drafting legislation for consideration when we return!

As always, contact me here through NathansNews, email me at NathanBallentine@schouse.gov, call me at the office (803) 734-2969, call me at home (803) 834-4613, or grab me out in the community when you see me!

It’s an honor and privilege to continue to represent you and your family in Columbia! I do my job best when I hear from you!
