For those that have been wondering. Here’s what I learned from our local Richland County Councilman, Bill Malinowski.
“SCE&G is in the process of constructing new 230 KV transmission lines from V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Fairfield County to the Lake Murray Transmission substation. This project is to help transmit power from V.C. Summer Units 2 & 3, which are currently under construction. This section of the project is being done entirely on existing right-of-way, including near Milford Park subdivision.
SCE&G received approval from the Public Service Commission of SC on December 21, 2011 as part of Docket # 2011-325-E.”
