With the recent flack over the NFL’s postponement of the Eagles-Vikings game two weeks ago, I was bracing for a potential tongue-lashing from Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell. Fortunately, that won’t happen as the SC General Assembly WILL be meeting tommorrow (as prescribed by law) for the opening of the 119th session.

The House will convene at 3:30 pm (instead of noon) for a perfunctory session and we look forward to the Inaurgural events that are still presently scheduled for Wednesday.

South Carolina is under a State of Emergency, so to my colleagues and to all visitors planning to come to Columbia, please be safe and check the roads before heading out.

Bundle up – we’re in for historic days this week in South Carolina!
