Great news for our community this weekend as the Dutch Fork High School girls won a convincing victory in the state championship, bringing home the program’s first of what we hope are many more state titles.

The Silver Foxes doubled up on Orangeburg Wilkinson High School, winning 61-29. Leaders on the team included Donnesha Shuler with 24 points, Rose Robinson with 10 points, and Alaina Coates with 11 rebounds and five blocks.

As well, a special congratulations goes to Coach Faye Norris, who takes home her first state championship.

The Dutch Fork girls’ basketball team is one of many programs in our area that is making us proud every day, on and off the court.

Please join me in congratulating them, and I look forward to recognizing them at the Statehouse very soon.
