The end of this two-year legislative session is just 3 weeks away!
Here’s a quick video to ease the mind of many who are worried about Senate 1095 (Abortion) and are concerned it could become law.
Spoiler alert: It won’t.
On this side of the State House, the House will take up the SC DOT Modernization Bill and work through many other bills on our calendar before working on the final version of this year’s state budget.
If you let me know what bills are important to you, I can let you know their status. If a House bill has not passed our chamber yet; or if a Senate bill has not passed their chamber yet; the odds of becoming a law these next 3 weeks are very slim.
Any bill that does not become law by the time we adjourn effectively “dies” and must be re-introduced next session and start the process over again.
These next few weeks will be interesting and sure to have twists/turns so let me know any questions you have when you hear the media or your friends talk about “hot topics” and I’ll give you the scoop on what’s going on inside the chambers!
Thanks again for the privilege, trust and confidence you have in my ability to serve your family and our community!
