Heads up! You may or may not know our state has many, many bridges that need repair. One in the middle of Ballentine is scheduled for late 2025 or, more likely, summer 2026.

It’s the one between the Walmart and Walgreens. You know, the one where we have had a few fender-benders from people not realizing others may be turning into Milford Park at the bottom of the bridge.

Click here to see more information about the project and/or be sure to attend the drop-in scheduled for June 26th from 5pm to 7pm at Ballentine Park (1009 Bickley Road).

Good news is that BEFORE any work begins (and detours start), we should see a new traffic signal at Broad River Road and Farming Creek Road as well as left turn lanes added from Broad River Road to Bickley Road.

This will cause (more) headaches during this time frame (120 days total, with 45 of those days having NO ACCESS to bridge…the other days will be one lane/flaggers, etc). Like always, I’m getting this information out there as soon as possible and as soon as I’m aware.

I want everyone to stay informed!

Our area has seen many infrastructure improvements through the past few years and while it’s a pain when it’s going on, ultimately, we will see less delays and headaches once the projects are completed.

Definitely need that light at BRR and Farming Creek. I don’t know why there is one at the other end of Farming Creek and Dreher Shoals Rd when BRR needed/needs it much more.
