Parents (and students), by now you’re aware of the new “Free to Focus” cell phone policy that Lex/Rich5 implemented beginning this month.

This policy is the result of a proviso we passed in the General Assembly after hearing from our teachers, parents, health professionals, and others.

It’s not just our kids who “have a problem” when it comes to phones. It’s us who are distracted by them, too. I’m seeking to do better and trying to limit my screen time.

Maybe if we model behavior, our kids may understand and realize the importance? That’s my hope. We’re in this together!

Great video and its important and I am in the same boat. Making this video shows that you are honest and transparent about the issues we all face. You should try riding a motorcycle and taking a picture. I am not proud but years ago thought it was okay to do it. I also think my Grandson at 15 years old he needs to be in school not in his phone. Thank you for setting up responsible rules for the schools to follow.
