Sounds great on a campaign trail! But there’s a difference between campaigning and governing.
What I have done this year was support a $200M plan in the Houses budget that will continue to lower our income tax as the General Assembly and Governor have outlined in recent years. We have more work to do and my first goal is to get us lower than surrounding states.
I don’t want to get too into the weeds but SC actually does have a LOWER income tax (effective rate) than our neighboring states! Stay tuned in the weeks ahead…
