Below is notice from Clerk of the House (note: Senate will also be in session that week)
Dear House Members and Staff:
House Speaker Jay Lucas is calling the House into session at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
Access to the Blatt Building will be limited to Members and House Staff with ID/Access cards. Full-time staff and legislative aides will be allowed in the building to work. Full-time staff and legislative aides should check with their immediate supervisors to determine if their presence is needed.
Pages and law clerks will NOT be allowed to work. And, members of the public will NOT be allowed access to the Blatt Building.
The Speaker has announced that committees and subcommittees will NOT meet. The House will restrict its legislative activities to the House Chamber. Only House Staff and House Members will be allowed in the House Chamber and balcony. Media will be allowed access to the Chamber pursuant to standard House rules and policies. The House Chamber will be thoroughly cleaned prior to Tuesday, May 12, at 12:00 noon. Hand sanitizer will be available at multiple areas in the House Chamber.
The Speaker states the House membership should be prepared to meet on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. The legislative session is scheduled to adjourn sine die at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. However, the sine die adjournment date MAY be extended by two weeks if the BEA issues a state revenue forecast reduction. See, SC Code Section 2-1-180(b) below.
