2013 Richland 101

Passing along information I requested about “Richland 101” course to provide citizens a look at the workings of Richland County government.

Richland 101 is a free course. Classes will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in March — with a graduation ceremony the first week in April. The classes will be held at the County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St. and other locations. We still are confirming speakers, but topics to be covered include taxes, budgeting, emergency services, animal care, solid waste and more.

Richland 101 gives residents an in-depth look at the workings of County government and how their tax dollars work for them. We’ll advertise more information after the new year (agenda, registration details, deadline to register, etc.). Right now, we just want to get the class on the public radar.

Please let me know if you need any more information — and thank you, again.
