My friends,

The book,  No Ordinary Lives …. The Life and Times of Chapin Area World War II Veterans –  will be on sale Saturdays June 25, July 9, and July 16 – at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin. the life and times of 78 WWII veterans will be featured.

Please inform your families and friends in the area of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Given the passage of time, these gallant WWII men and women are leaving us at a rate of 1,500 every day.

This book covers the lives of the “Greatest Generation.” It  is over 500 pages in length and will sell for $31. Checks should be made to Post 193 WWII Vet Book. After expenses, proceeds will go to Chapin American Legion Post 193 Inc. for community projects in the Chapin area.

I edited the book. The Foreword was penned by a very distinguished Army officer, Major General (Ret.) Steve Siegfried. General Siegfried lives in the Chapin area and is a former Commanding General of Fort Jackson.

During the sale dates, several WWII veterans featured in the book will be on hand to autograph their stories/photographs.

There is much local, state, national and world history in this book. This is a one-of-a-kind book that will not pass this way again.

 Respectfully,

 Colonel Tom Fincher

US Army, Retired.
