nathan, do you think that nikki haley will be able to work with the general assembly or will she be another sanford. she seems to be kind of on the outs with many of the legislators. do you really think she can get them to work with her if she becomes governor?
Rep. Haley is much more pro-active than Governor Sanford was/is and, believe it or not, has more friends in the General Assembly than people give her credit for. (That’s not even counting the bandwagon that has happened since June 8th).
It seems everyday we’ve been in office, particularily the last four years, several members come to get her opinion/advice/help from the House floor. She is respected by many and she can build coalitions to reform our state government for the betterment of our people.
There are several things Governor Sanford’s team know they could have/should have done better in terms of relationship building over the past several years. Those mistakes won’t be repeated by a Haley administration.
I look for a very productive session next year (and beyond) as we will finally see a teamwork approach to governing.
