NERD ALERT!! Wife and I are both “twitterin” now

August 25, 2008

There’s really only one nerd in this bunch and it’s me; but, tonight my wife decided to join TWITTER .

Somehow she was able to get the name StateHouseWife because it hadn’t been taken yet.

Not sure what I think about her being so exposed on the net, although this may cut down on the phone calls during the day. Instead, I can simply check TWITTER and see what she and the kids are doing.

If you missed the earlier post about what all this is about, click here.

Karen’s life is as busy as mine. With three kids (11, 4, and 3), our church, Junior League and helping me in my role as a State Representative, she’s working nonstop from the time she gets up until the time we get together in the late evenings. I’m sure, in time, you’ll see what it’s like to be married to an elected official. She gives so much to our family and I couldn’t serve our community and state without her!

I can now see what you and Karen are doing each day. I see you both have a busy day today–you have Wachovia conference call, realtor lunch, etc. Karen doing Junior League and preparing Cockaboose.

    Rocking Name, StateHouseWife!!!

I think Hillary would like it too! Still hoping she will steal the whole pie from Bamy tonight. I am not a Dem, but wouldn’t it be cool to have a WhiteHouseMama?!?

Of course, we will have to reindoctrinate her with those long-lost conservative roots. Weed the garden, so to speak?

Although we may disagree politically, I want to tell you how much I admire your willingness to communicate via Web 2.0 technologies. As an educator who advocates that the education culture must be transformed to reach digital learners, I applaud your leadership in being a model for your legislative colleagues. Perhaps we can begin a new dialogue about what teaching and learning should look like for 21st century learners of all ages. The industrial age model does not work for today ’s students. Whatever our political differences, we agree education should be THE priority issue–let the conversation begin!

Got something to say?
