It'll help explain it more ************* If this bill doesn't pass (without the retirement benefit for the General Assembly), SC taxpayers will either have to pay for retirees ad hoc COLA's, or a lawsuit brought against SC for not granting an ad hoc COLA (first time in 40 years). We've got outstanding and historic legislation that needs to be passed. For the very first time in 40 years we have legislation that reduces the system's unfunded liability and secures the stability of the system while looking out for our state and police retirees.
