I understand that we live in the same community. It is nice to have you as a neighbor.

October 11, (2008) I went to the local Wendy's, across from Home Depot, to get some lunch. It cost $5.23. Then the tax was added. I was shocked to find that the tax on $5.23 was $.47!

You represent me, so I thought I would simply ask you... what is going on that the tax on a simple lunch is soooo high?

Something is seriously wrong, and I have a feeling things are going to get a lot worse. Thank you for holding the standards high, and standing strong. We need more like you.

Sincerely,
Mary Anne Cosper

Seems to me we already experienced "early voting." I find it hard to believe that all those people actually fit in the requirements for absentee voting. I qualify by age, but took my turn in line at the poll on the specified date to vote. Maybe we just need to make those "absentee" voters legal. I think early voting days are a good idea, but a cutoff date a few days before the actual election date so the election rosters can be updated should definately be in the picture. No chance for double voting which did happen last Tuesday, even if no one realized they could have done so!

After standing in line to vote for so long, I felt like I was in a third world country that was just experimenting with democracy. Please do something to make voting day more efficient. We either need more machines (one per 250 people is absurd) or we need early voting! I hope you will either take the intiative or follow one to help this get better!

You seem a tad bitter about that redistribution, Congressman!

Jesus would tell you to share. And you know it.

...

It was peaceful ["boring"] voting in Lexington today. That is the closest I have stood to my crotchety old neighbor, for the longest amount of time while not being sued for trespassing on his weed plantation.
