Dear Ellie,
Part of Highway 76 is in the Town of Irmo, part of it is not. But it is illegal to place any signs in the Right of Way, which is x amount of feet from the center of the road. Irmo does enforce that by pulling up signs within the Town Limits. However, the County does not do that. I agree it gets overboard and we do our part in our Town to keep it looking better. And as we annex more property along Highway 76 and 176 then hopefully between us removing the signs, cutting the grass, planting trees, and doing other beautification, you should soon be able to tell what part is in Irmo and what part isn't, and enjoy the view. Thanks. Hardy King, Irmo Town Council

I appreciate the newsletter being sent via email. Thank you for this service!

We moved to the area 2 years ago from Ohio and love it here.
Each time I drive on 76, which is daily, I notice how all the signage mars the beauty of the area. There are so many free standing signs advertising developments, services, and all sorts of things that seem to multiply weekly. I understand the need to advertise your business on this road, but most of these are not for this purpose and many are outdated and never removed.
